Bridge Curfews

The Port of New Orleans owns and operates four bridges (St. Claude Avenue, Florida Avenue, Almonaster Avenue, and Seabrook) across the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal. To help expedite vehicular traffic during peak drive times, the bridges will not be drawn for maritime traffic during restricted hours on weekdays (Monday-Friday), excluding federal holidays, except in the case of an emergency. These restricted hours are known as bridge curfews.

For information about the IHNC Lock, which is operated by the New Orleans District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, north of the St. Claude Avenue Bridge, click here.

For water stages in the IHNC, the GIWW and the MRGO, visit this website.

For railroads and government agencies needing more detailed bridge information, please contact John Guidry, Director of Port Maintenance, at 504.528.3310 or 504.376.4210 (cell), or john.guidry@portnola.com.
